  • Recommended Action

That the Minutes of the Essex County O.P.P. Detachment Board - South Meeting held on March 27, 2025, be approved as presented.

As outlined in Ontario Regulation 135/24, this Board is one of two O.P.P. Detachment Boards in Essex County. The Board is listed as the  "Essex County O.P.P. Detachment" in the Regulation. Since the establishment of the two boards within Essex County, this Board has been referred to as the "Essex County O.P.P. Detachment Board South".

If this Board chooses to pass a resolution to confirm a name, it must meet the following criteria as required by the Ministry of the Solicitor General:
  • The name of the Detachment Board must be representative of the Board's catchment area. For Boards with more than one municipality within the catchment area, it is recommended that the Board include how the name describes the Board's catchment area in its Terms of Reference.
  • Cannot use the term "police service board".

The next regularly scheduled meeting of the Essex County O.P.P. Detachment Board - South is September 18, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. at the Unico Community Centre.
