We acknowledge the Three Fires Confederacy (Ojibwe, Potawatomie and Odawa) and the Traditional ancestral, unceded territory of Caldwell First Nation; the original people of Point Pelee, Pelee Island and its surrounding waters. We recognize and respect the First Nations who are stewards of the land and waters of Turtle Island and who have embraced this stewardship since time immemorial. We would also like to acknowledge other nearby First Nations Communities and First Nations across Turtle Island.

When a member of Council has any pecuniary interest, direct or indirect, in any matter which is the subject of consideration at this Meeting of Council (or that was the subject of consideration at the previous Meeting of Council at which the member was not in attendance), the member shall disclose the pecuniary interest and its general nature, prior to any consideration of the matter.

  • Recommended Action
    1. That Zoning By-law Amendment ZBA-2022-20 to permit Additional Dwelling Units and update associated regulations in Zoning By-law 1-2014 BE APPROVED;

    2. That By-law 8-2023 being a by-law to amend By-law No. 1-2014, the Comprehensive Zoning By-law for the Town of Kingsville be taken as having been read three times and finally passed and the Mayor and Clerk BE AUTHORIZED to sign same; and

    3. That Administration BE DIRECTED to prepare additional reference materials for residents regarding Additional Dwelling Units to be posted on the Town’s website.
  • Recommended Action
    1. That Zoning By-law amendment application ZBA/21/2022 to amend the text of the site-specific Residential Zone 1 Urban Exception 29, “R1.1-29” on the subject parcel to increase the maximum number of students attending a private school from 20 to 35 BE DENIED.

    1. That the proposal for exterior changes to the designated property located at 30 Main Street East BE APPROVED with the following recommendations made by the Heritage Committee:
      1. Historical font from the time period or similar font to the original Fire Department Sign.
      2. Appropriate hardware and lighting for the time period be incorporated in the pergola, and encourage the use of ‘gooseneck’ lighting fixtures.
      3. Architectural corbels (brackets) historically appropriate to the arts and crafts style be used to support the pergola.
  • Recommended Action
    1. That the 2023 Proposed Grant Awards outlined in Schedule A BE APPROVED as recommended by Committee of the Whole on February 21, 2023; and,

    2. That a $7,500 draw from the Community Grants Reserve (Account #03-000-032-31065) BE AUTHORIZED.
